Travel Through Time and Fraser Country

Retrace the steps of Claire Beecham and Jamie Fraser and discover the locations where Diana Gabaldon’s “Outlander” have been filmed in the Highlands. Now filming its fourth season, Outlander has proved to be a global success with much of the series being set in Inverness and the surrounding area. The tour includes a visit to Wardlaw Mausoleum, the burial place of the Clan Chiefs of Fraser. We will visit Culloden Battlefield to visit the memorial stones to the Clans that fell during the battle. Then onwards to the Clava Cairns, the prehistoric stone circles and burial cairns and believed to be Craigh Na Dun although the actual site used in the series is in the Loch Rannoch area. Heading south we step back in time at the Highland Folk Museum. The reconstruction of a 18th Century highland village has been used numerous times in the series and gives you a glimpse of what highland life was like during the past three centuries.
